Once a rugged personal digital assistant (PDA) or payment terminal leaves the cage, you still need to know that it is enrolled, locked to the job, current, and recoverable if it goes missing. That knowledge is what turns hardware into a fleet. Mobile device management (MDM) gives your team the control that closes the gap.
We can enroll into a tenant you already own or scope a separate management requirement. Replacing your current MDM stays a decision you make on its own merits.
What we scope
Enrollment comes first—zero-touch, a quick response (QR) code, or original equipment manufacturer (OEM) staging—so devices arrive ready instead of being configured by hand on the floor. Policy follows: allowed apps, kiosk or launcher, camera and share controls, so the device does the job it was bought for. Updates move through operating-system and app rings, because “update all” on a Monday morning is how a shift loses its first hour.
Then the two moments nobody plans for. A lost device has to be located, locked, and wiped. A retired device has to be unenrolled, with evidence that it was.
Enrollment routes, staging, and the return path for a failed unit are agreed per project when we scope deployment and support.
Which hardware it sits on
Rugged handhelds belong in a management plane once the fleet has to be enrolled, updated, and recovered without touching each unit. Payment and point-of-sale handhelds belong there when the operating system must be locked. Dedicated barcode scanners qualify when they are smart enough to enroll, which is worth checking model by model.
How it connects to terminal management and fleet insights
MDM owns the device as a computer: operating system, apps, identity.
Terminal management (TMS) owns the terminal as a payment endpoint: keys, parameters, payment app.
Fleet insights read both, so your operations team works from what the devices report.
A point-of-sale fleet often needs MDM and TMS. A warehouse handheld fleet usually needs MDM and fleet insights, not TMS.

FAQ
Do we have to move off our current device management platform?
No. If you already own a mobile device management (MDM) tenant, we enroll into it. Replacing it is a separate decision you make on its own merits.
Is mobile device management the same as terminal management?
They cover different layers. Mobile device management (MDM) owns the device as a computer: operating system, apps, and identity. Terminal management (TMS) owns the terminal as a payment endpoint: keys, parameters, and the payment app. How hardware and software connect shows both in one stack.
